TF2: User-Created Classes!
Posted in Team Fortress 2 NewsValve may have spent a decade developing the best-balanced collection of classes since Teeter-Totter was dropped from the Olympics, but that hasn’t stopped the players from coming up with their own. Here we introduce four fan-made classes you’ll see on every Team Fortress 2 server.

A good defensive Scout can be a godsend on certain maps. I agree, he’s fairly useless on certain stages of Dustbowl and Goldrush, but he can work wonders on most other A/D maps. His job isn’t to straight up defend the point, rather pick off classes so that the rest of the team has an easier time. A dead Medic enemy can mean RED doesn’t get decimated by an uber. True, every class can kill enemy Medics, but Scouts, because of their speed, excel at getting in and taking out a key target and getting out.
Then again, people hate defensive Scouts because most of them are terribad, in which case, I agree with this post wholeheartedly.

I agree with Railway. Plus, the Sandman can help. The times I’ve stunned a medic ubering a demo about to take out all our defenses is enough to justify me running around like a headless chicken every now and then. ^^ But offensive scout is far better of course. Zig-zagging through enemy lines and doing a little dance on the last CP while it caps is always fun. Unless there’s a turret nearby. Goddamn turrets.

I’ll have to disagree on the defensive scout. Depends whos playing the scout. If you have a good scout who knows how avoid fire well and has good aim (such as myself), you can defend for quite a bit of time.

alot of times scouts dont have much choice since most morons run and get killed right when your last cap becomes vulnerable
