New To server admining...

I just recently bought a zombie master server and Having trouble.

1.) How do I install maps on this server.

2.) How do I set server admins on this server


Im a server noob but I thought I would ask the pro's

You can log into your server control panel and add maps through the file manager or use the FTP link on the main window of the server details. Admins are part of a admin tool and thus that will need to be added. What type of server is this, what game?

Its a zombie master server
a half life 2 mod

I kinda got it started a bit

but for some reason the motd isnt working when you type it in game

and

the map doesnt rotate every 30 minutes or so it just stays on the map it starts with forever. I dunno how to change that

You can use the command line changer to make the start up map different. The server.cfg should have a force rotate command or something that says if the server should rotate if someone is on the server or not.

The MOTD is a simple text file or a HTML file, it reads both. I would use notepad to edit it. If you just type basic lines like:

Rules:

1: Blah blah.
2: Blah blah blah.
3: Blah blah blah blah.

That will show up in yellow plain text. If you want something fancy you'll need to know HTML or have an editor to do the hard coding for you.

Make sure it saved as "motd.txt" no caps, no quotes, nothing special.
