How to add tools (garrysmod)

Hello, i bought a server and its very good no lag at all but i have one question. I want to add tools to my server but when i download a tool and place it in de right folder it wont work.
Can someone please help me?

Gmod is simple here and hard there. Certain tools may require certain files to be placed in a certain file directory. Also, be sure that if the particular tool requires an LUA, to stick that file in the lua > autorun. However, most tools just need to be placed in the garrysmod > addons folder. Good Luck!
